The recent GDPA FAM Trip to Western Macedonia was created with one purpose:
to introduce our community of wedding & event professionals to the lesser-known gems of Western Macedonia, its warm local culture, rich gastronomic traditions, world-class wineries, and the breathtaking landscapes that make the region an emerging destination for celebrations and immersive travel.
Through every tasting, every meeting with local producers, and every visit to vineyards and villages, we had the chance to discover new venues, suppliers, and experiences that can elevate future destination weddings and events across Greece.
We are deeply grateful for the generous hospitality and the meaningful collaborations that made this educational trip possible.

Sofreh Aghd is a symbolic spread on a ceremonial cloth displayed during a traditional Persian wedding, with each item representing a blessing for the couple’s new life. It features symbolic elements like a mirror for a bright future, candles for clarity, and a bowl of honey for sweetness. The name combines “Sofreh” (spread) and “Aghd” (ceremony), and the display often includes a holy book and items for fertility and prosperity.
